Blaze is now Kenseme

Blaze has a new name. It is now Kenseme, the same software built by the same team, under a name people can find and we can own.

Blaze is now Kenseme. The software is the same, and so is the team that builds it. We changed the name because we wanted one that people searching for us could find, and one we could own outright.

Why we changed the name

The name served Blaze well in its early years. As it became a product in its own right, the name started to work against it. Blaze is one of the most crowded names in software. Search for it and you find marketing tools, app builders, analytics products and consulting offers, some of them selling to the same people we do. Someone looking for us had to dig, and a name people have to dig for is not really yours.

So we went looking for a word that was clear to register, easy to search for, and true to the work.

What Kenseme means

Kenseme joins two old words. Ken is Scots and northern English for to know. A seme is the term in semiotics for the smallest unit of meaning, the smallest thing that can carry sense. Together they mean the smallest knowable unit of meaning. Say it KEN-seem.

ken, to know, plus seme, the smallest unit of meaning, equals Kenseme
Two old words, one name.

The name describes how the work goes. Kenseme captures your business one definition at a time: what a term means, how a process runs, which rule applies. It relates those definitions to each other and binds them to your data, so your agents work from what your business has written down instead of guessing at it.

What stays the same

  1. The software. Kenseme is the product you knew as Blaze, under its new name.
  2. The people. The team that built Blaze builds Kenseme, and the people you have worked with are the people you will keep talking to.
  3. Your work. Your model exports in full. A new name does not change who owns your work. You do.

What changes

You will see Kenseme on this site, in our materials and in everything we send from now on. Older decks, documents and emails will still say Blaze for a while. Read them as Kenseme.

What to do next

If you have worked with us on Blaze, there is nothing you need to do.

If you are new to us, the quickest way to see what Kenseme does is on your own data. Together we pick one business area, the one where a wrong answer costs the most. Two weeks later you can ask a real question and check the answer. Book a demo.
