Snowflake makes Semantic View Autopilot generally available

Snowflake made Semantic View Autopilot generally available. It drafts semantic views from query history, BI metadata and table structure.

On February 3, 2026, Snowflake made Semantic View Autopilot generally available.

What shipped

  1. Semantic View Autopilot, generally available. It drafts semantic views from how data is already used, including query history and existing BI metadata.
  2. Suggestions for review. Authors see the proposed metrics, dimensions and relationships and decide what to keep.

Why it matters

Writing semantic models by hand is slow, and that is the main reason many companies have none. Drafting from usage is a practical way to get started.

Usage shows what people did, though, not what they meant. If three teams have queried "active customer" three ways for years, the history holds all three. A draft can surface the conflict. Someone still has to resolve it, and that decision is worth recording with a name and a date.
